Agilent 

Created in 1999, following Hewlett Packard’s (HP) corporate realignment into two separate companies: HP, mainly dealing in computers, printing, and imaging businesses; and Agilent, which deals in HP’s all non-computing products. Agilent is a global leader in life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemical markets, providing application-focused solutions that include instruments, software, services and consumables for the entire laboratory workflow. 

Bio-Rad (a BCC member!) 

Founded in 1952, Bio-Rad offers life sciences products and services that have found applications to separate, purify, identify and analyze chemical and biological materials. Bio-Rad is a global leader in manufacturing, developing and marketing a broad range of innovative products for the clinical diagnostic and life science research markets. Customers include hospitals, university and research institutions, public health and commercial laboratories, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and applied laboratories. 

BD Biosciences (a BCC member!) 

BD Biosciences is part of Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD). BD Life Sciences provides products for the safe collection and transport of diagnostic specimens, along with instruments and reagents systems to detect a broad range of infectious diseases, healthcare associated infections and cancers. 

Charles River Laboratories 

Charles River Laboratories was founded in 1947. The company is engaged in research tools that enable drug discovery and development and offers the animal research models required in research and development for new drugs, devices and therapies. It provides various products for HTS and cell-based assays.

Danaher 

Danaher Corp., formerly known as DMG Inc., was organized as a real estate investment trust in 1969. The company changed its name to Diversified Mortgage Investors Inc. in 1978 and was renamed Danaher in 1984. Danaher manufactures, designs and markets products and services to professional, medical, industrial and commercial customers. Danaher generates revenue through three key segments: Life Sciences, Diagnostics, and Environmental and Applied Solutions. 

Merk KGAA (a BCC member!) 

EMD Millipore, recognized as Merck Millipore outside the U.S. and Canada, is the U.S. subsidiary of Merck KGaA. The company’s strategic collaboration with the University of Cape Town in South Africa and the Medicines for Malaria Venture has continued screening of its almost 100,000 proprietary substances intending to identify new drug candidates for the treatment of malaria while also expanding its research capacity in and for Africa. 

Illumina 

Illumina provides a broad portfolio of sequencing- and array-based solutions for genetic and genomic analysis. The company develops and commercializes life sciences tools and integrated systems for large-scale genetic variation and drug research analysis. Illumina’s commercial offerings include microarray-based products and services, including SNP genotyping, gene expression and protein analysis. 

Qiagen 

Qiagen is engaged in sample and assay technologies for applied testing, molecular diagnostics, academic and pharmaceutical research. Incorporated under the Dutch holding Qiagen N.V., the firm operates more than 35 offices in over 25 countries. Qiagen provides sample and assay technologies worldwide, and offers about 500 core consumable products, such as sample and assay kits and automated instrumentation systems. 

Thermo Fisher Scientific (a BCC member!) 

Thermo Fisher Scientific was established in 2006 through the merger of Thermo Electron and Fisher Scientific. The firm provides products, services and solutions for research, analysis, discovery and diagnostics, and serves more than 400,000 customers working in pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and clinical diagnostic labs, universities, research institutions and government agencies.
